01 — Padel academy systems

The academy system behind the Middle East's largest padel operator.

I'm Angel Carrasco. I run the academy at PADELIN in Doha — three coaches, 450 to 500 lessons a month, over 90% retention in the junior programme. I install that same system in clubs in fast-growing padel markets, and I certify your own coaches to run it.

Remote-first, with on-site intensives. English and Spanish. Working with clubs across the Gulf, South and Southeast Asia and West Africa.

02 — What I do

Courts are a construction problem. Academies are a coaching one.

You can put four courts up in twelve weeks. Filling them every week, keeping players improving and stopping them leaving after six is a different job, and it is the one I do. Five ways in, depending on what your club needs.

01

Academy implementation

Club owners

I build the academy your courts don't have — and train your own staff to run it.

Scope and price are settled on the call, in writing, after it. There is nothing to sign to have the conversation.

03 — The method

A player's level is a place on the court, not an opinion.

Six levels, each defined by what the player can do, how much of the court they use, what the session looks like, and the criterion the club uses to move them up. This is what gets installed, and what your coaches are certified to deliver. Select a level.

The back of the court. The glass is in play from day one.

L1 Back court rallies

What the player can do
Play the point from the back of the court on both wings, and take the ball after the glass instead of chasing it before the bounce. Grip, ready position and the three phases of a stroke are settled.
What the session looks like
Five contents per session, taken in the order the syllabus sets. Everything at this level is defence — forehand, backhand, both off the glass, reading the angle out of the side wall, serve and return.
What the coach must hold
Level 1 — Foundation Coach.
How the club knows they're ready
Both wings under control from the back, and the ball played after the glass rather than before it. The number the club should watch here is week-six attendance: it predicts whether a beginner becomes a member better than any grade does.

Every level has written entry and exit criteria, so a player's level is a fact the club can check rather than a judgement one coach makes and the next one overrules. Juniors run on a separate ladder of eight stages. The full syllabus, drill library and assessment forms are delivered under licence.

04 — Who I am

Angel Carrasco

Head Coach and Club Manager at PADELIN in Doha, Qatar — the largest padel operator in the Middle East. I have run the academy at two of its venues.

Ten years coaching padel, most of it inside operations rather than beside them: building level systems, hiring and training coaching staff, and answering to occupancy and retention numbers rather than to a lesson diary. I have worked with national team programmes in the region and run coach education for local coaches who had never held a racket professionally.

I played on the junior World Padel Tour. That is not the reason to hire me. The reason is that I have had to make an academy work inside a commercial club, in a market where padel was new and the coaching bench had to be built from nothing — the same problem you have.

05 — FAQ

The questions owners ask on the first call.

Do you have to be here in person?

No. The level structure, session library, assessment system, packaging model and reporting are built with you over video and delivered as working documents. The part that genuinely needs a court is coach assessment, and that is what the on-site intensive is for — three to five days, once the system is already in place, so the visit is spent on people rather than paperwork.

How long does it take?

A club opening soon usually needs eight to twelve weeks, because the coaching team has to be hired and certified as well as the system installed. An open club being rebuilt moves faster on the documents and slower on the people: the audit and rebuild take four to six weeks, and retraining existing coaches out of old habits takes longer than training new ones.

What do we have to provide?

Court time for assessment and training. One person on your side who owns the academy internally and can make decisions. Access to your booking and membership data, or a monthly export, so the reporting is built on your real numbers. And candidates — if you have no coaches yet we design the hiring together, but you have to be able to recruit locally.

Our coaches don't speak much English.

That doesn't break it. I work in English and Spanish, and the system is designed to be delivered by coaches in their own language. The written materials are English; the on-court delivery is not. In practice we identify one or two coaches with stronger English early and train them as the internal bridge.

Do we have to use your coaches?

No, and that is the point. The method exists because most of these markets cannot import coaching staff, so it is built to be delivered by local people trained and certified in place. Placement is available if you want help filling a role, but it is an option and never a condition.

Can we see prices?

Not on a page. Scope varies by the number of courts, the number of coaches, whether you are opening or rebuilding, and how much your own team can carry. That gets settled on a 20-minute call, and you get a written scope and price after it.

06 — Book a call

Twenty minutes, and you'll know whether this fits.

Tell me the stage of the club and the number of courts. I'll come to the call having looked at your market, and I'll tell you plainly if the method isn't the right thing for you yet.
